At NDDRC, we have a team of experts who are adept at using targeted therapy to achieve excellent results. By creating trust and offering compassion, patients can start healing in a safe and supportive environment.

Psychotherapy is not to be confused with counselling even though there are similarities between the two. Psychotherapy is a long-term process that aims to resolve deep-rooted issues by tackling the root cause. It aims to resolve emotional struggles through an all-round and in-depth understanding of a persons behaviours. Counselling on the other hand is focused on specific issues and aims to provide immediate, practical solutions. Our team makes appropriate choice based on your particular needs.

Our team has structured Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) sessions to address negative patterns and irrational beliefs. Behavioural Therapy sessions identify and modify harmful behaviours. Through Holistic Therapy, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being is integrated. A host of Relaxation Therapies help manage stress and anxiety using techniques such as deep breathing and guided imagery. All these come together to create a personalised intervention using these techniques as tools for dealing with problems.

Counselling

It is a form of talking therapy where people discuss their problems in a safe, confidential environment. People seek counselling when they want to change some aspect of their lives or explore their thoughts and feelings. Our counsellors are there to encourage you to talk about your problem and identify the causes for the same. They can help you in creating a plan of action to reconcile your issues or help you in coping with them. It usually deals with specific issues over a shorter period of time, as opposed to therapy where these issues are dealt with on a long-term basis.

It can help people cope with difficult situations that they are unable to talk about with family and friends. People also approach counsellors to get an unbiased opinion about their decisions and situations. While it can be used to address a variety of issues, some of the most common ones are addictions, substance abuse, bereavement, bullying, illness, mental health problems such as depression, relationship issues, parental growth, trauma, stress, low self-esteem, etc. at NDDRC, our team provides support to foster mental well-being of our patients.

Marriage and sex therapy

It is therapy where one’s problems in marriage, sexuality and other sexual concerns are addressed. When a couple undergoes marriage therapy, sex therapy should be an integral part of the plan. Marriage problems and especially sexual problems are brushed under the carpet as something secretive and not to be discussed openly. Hence, it is even more important to deal with them during therapy sessions. Lack of intimacy or a disconnect between the needs of the couple often gives rise to secondary problems. Being physically in tune with each other’s needs helps couples be more compatible. Whatever the sexual orientation of the couples involved may be, sex therapy can help them work out their differences. Our team creates a safe environment where both parties feel comfortable opening up and sharing their feelings without judgement. Some of the issues that we address during these sessions include communication problems, emotional disconnect, sexual dysfunction, intimacy issues and more.
